Safe Harbor Recovery Center (SHRC)
It’s been a busy couple of months since the last newsletter! Over the holidays, SHRC staff and volunteers collected and donated many Christmas gifts to deserving families on the Seacoast area.
The community at SHRC continues to engage new members through their many classes and meetings, including a Peer Recovery Support Services (PRSS) at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital weekly. We are also focused on developing a Recovery Employment Workforce Program that will support both our members and local employers sustain employment.
On February 14th, the NBC Nightly News crew arrived at SHRC to film our employment specialist, Sarah Rawlins, who shared her personal story of recovery and her thoughts on the placing our members into a Recovery Friendly work environment.
In other news, our hugely successful Hungry for Hope III has been scheduled for July 30, 2018 at the same location as last year: One Harbour Place in downtown Portsmouth. Many, many thanks to Renee Plummer and John Akar for spearheading this fabulous event again and their continued support of SHRC! Stay tuned for more information on this exciting event.
